A Beginner's Guide to Villainy
A villain must be a thing of power, handled with delicacy and grace. He must be wicked enough to excite our aversion, strong enough to arouse our fear, human enough to awaken some transient gleam of sympathy. We must triumph in his downfall, yet not barbarously nor with contempt, and the close of his career must be in harmony with all its previous development.

Welcome to A Beginner's Guide to Villainy! This class will cover four aspects of a villain, namely the origin, the lair, the henchmen and the traps that usually lead to the villain's fall.
My name is Maxim Trevelyan and I will be your teacher for the class. I am a Gryffindor professor at HOL, editor for The HOwLer, and also a member of the Class Committee.
